                                                                    A trip to Areni and Gladzor, Armenia At the break of dawn our hiking club set off on an adventure to the mountains in the far-flung corners of Armenia. The journey took as many as three hours, though we did not get much bored in our cheerful company. It was a convenient coach with enough room to accommodate in excess of twenty people (there were just eighteen of us). We busied ourselves by playing games, telling jokes, and poking fun at each other. We would stop here and there to take in some fresh air and jog our numb feet.   No sooner had we got off the bus than we were stunned by the breathtaking view of the mountainous landscape that was spotted by patches of snow.     Today, as I was trying to grapple with a picture description task in Expert Proficiency: Student's Book , I decided to put down my answer lest I  missed out any details. The task goes like this: Describe the impression you get of the place shown in the photograph.     The picture depicts a huge slump of glacier breaking away and jostling for a lower position. The setting is in a pristine environment supposedly somewhere at the North Pole. A fisherman with a rod is watching the scene at close quarters, which is rather hazardous. The photo was taken from the right angle thereby vivifying the downfall. Towering above in solitude, the glacier is majestic in its grandeur and the motion awakens the blushing sound of the enormous mass hitting hard on the surface.    This is a photo of Sermeq Kujalleq glacier which has been acclaimed as a World Heritage site.
