CPE Report
You were recently one of a group of students who went on a three-week study holiday to England. You stayed with English families during your visit and the head of your English school has asked you to report on how satisfied the group was with this arrangement. Your report should include details of the accommodation and meals provided, and how leisure time was spent with the host families.
Write your report.
Introduction
The aim of this report is to summarise the impressions of a group of ten students who took a three-week study trip in England while staying in host families. I am writing on behalf of the group, with the data collected through online questionaries in which all the students took part.
About the programme and overall impressions of the arrangement
Each learner stayed in a host family fort three weeks while doing an intensive English course in the London Learning Academy from Monday to Saturday. Travel arrangements were made perfectly and no issues with documentation arose.
Accommodation
All students stayed not far from the Academy which enabled a fast commute from their temporary abodes. The longest travel was reported to be 20 minutes by bus. Each student was assigned a private space--a room--with an en-suite bathroom and all modern conveniences. The houses were clean and accommodating.
Meals
The host families showed hospitality in terms of treating the guests with delicious meals. They ensured that the food was familiar to the taste of foreign students. Cooking and dining together with the guest students were a common ritual in all the families.
Leisure activities
However, the time away from studies was rather restricted for all of us. Not only did we have to study for a large proportion of the day, but we also had to allocate hours for home tasks. This meant that there was barely any time left for leisure activities. Be that as it may, three of the students went for an occasional outing with the host families. However, the others were limited by the scant entertainment opportunities offered in their immediate neighborhoods.
Recommendations
In light of the above, I believe that the study trip was a great experience for the group. If the program were extended to a longer period and the pace of studies was more relaxed, future participants would have a better balance of study and entertainment.
